Plant-Based Diets and Chronic Kidney Disease

This continuing education course explores the role of plant-based diets in the prevention and treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD). Evidence for the efficacy of plant-based diets in reducing CKD will be presented. Nutrition professionals will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to educate patients and clients with CKD about the benefits of adopting a plant-based diet.

1.    List the benefits of plant-based diets in managing the progression and complications of chronic kidney disease (CKD).

3.    Monitor the nutritional intakes of patients and clients who transition to plant-based diets.
